The original house was a small 1,600 square foot cottage style house typical for this area in Chevy Chase. A 1,700 square foot addition was added to the existing house and all interior spaces were reconfigured. It is a surprise entering from street as the magnitude of the new addition is not apparent until one enters. Upon entering the eye is drawn immediately out into the garden. Spatially the house is open concept with all primary living spaces with views out to the garden. The cottage was completely transformed to include: a new gourmet kitchen designed to overlook a new garden room with 10' high ceilings, an open corner fireplace and mahogany floor to ceiling windows. A bridge spans across a two storey light well with corner windows that capture the sky and leads to the master bedroom.
